New EP “Get Dead” set to hit iTunes November 17

Jeremy Goldberg, lead singer and rhythm guitarist for thrash metal band Age of Evil, will be the special guest on the next edition of Hard Rock Nights airing November 13-19. Goldberg will speak with JT about the new Age of Evil EP, “Get Dead,” available via iTunes November 17. The EP features two new original songs, two cover songs (Skid Row’s “Slave to the Grind” and Judas Priest’s “Electric Eye”), and two live versions of songs that appeared on the band’s debut album, “Living a Sick Dream.”

Goldberg will discuss the band’s writing process, how they came to choose the songs they covered on the album, and touring with Jon Oliva. Age of Evil is comprised of two sets of brothers, the Goldbergs and the Ziffs, and some of the members are still in high school. Their age doesn’t detract from the group’s talent, however, which can be heard clearly on every song.

Hard Rock Nights is an internationally syndicated radio program that can be heard on a number of rock and metal stations on the internet and the FM dial. Click here for a full list of affiliates.

Cockpit guitarist talks about the band’s success and plans

Alicia Blü, guitarist for the all-female group Cockpit, will be the special guest on the internationally syndicated Hard Rock Nights from November 6-12. Preparing for an opening slot with the Supersuckers in California, Alicia takes a few minutes to talk about Cockpit’s debut EP, “Mission To Rock,” placement of the band’s music in television shows, and her favorite guitarist, Doug Aldrich.

Cockpit’s press release shows some of the major influences on their style and sound: “Heavy Judas Priest-style guitar riffs? Check. Bass lines stolen from Motörhead and KISS? Check. Fat, punchy AC/DC drums? Check. What more could you ask from a band that promises the return of rock? How about anthem-esque hooks, tasty guitar solos and choruses worthy of an arena? Check, check and most definitely check.”

To learn more about Cockpit, visit the band’s website at ilovecockpit.com, Myspace at myspace.com/cockpit, and Twitter @cockpitrocks.
