The Swedish sleaze scene boasts Vains of Jenna, Hell N’ Diesel, and Babylon Bombs, but none is bigger in my mind than the original lineup of CRASHDÏET. Rest In Sleaze will forever stand as one of my favorite albums, alongside such classics as Appetite For Destruction, Open Up and Say Ahhh and Dr. Feelgood.
CRASHDÏET delivers everything you would expect from a sleaze metal band: soaring vocals, high-octane guitar solos, down and dirty rhythm. No record that remotely resembles hair metal would be complete without a ballad, and CRASHDÏET delivers with “It’s a Miracle,” which is better than 95% of the songs found on those “Monster Ballads” compilations.
If you missed CRASHDÏET’s Rest In Sleaze when it was released a few years ago, you owe it to yourself to track down a copy today.
RATING: 10/10
HRN’s Picks: “Riot In Everyone,” “Breakin the Chainz,” “It’s a Miracle”

•June 17, 2009 • Leave a CommentHelena Cos, vocalist for the Spider Rockets, and Nigel Dupree, leader of the Nigel Dupree Band, will be the special guests on the June 20 edition of Hard Rock Nights.
The Spider Rockets are a female-fronted hard rock outfit hailing from New Jersey. Their self-titled album features a number of in-your-face rockers, including the unofficial first single, “Kiss You Dead.” Helena will speak with JT about the release, upcoming concerts with Jani Lane and Marcy Playground, and plans to shoot a video for “Kiss You Dead” in the near future. More information about the Spider Rockets is available at spiderrockets.com.
Nigel Dupree is the offspring of Jackyl frontman Jesse James Dupree. The first single from the Nigel Dupree Band’s debut record Attraction is “Rock N’ Roll,” a party rocker if there ever was one. Nigel will speak with JT about the single, growing up with a famous chainsaw-wielding father, and plans to party with Bret Michaels in Cincinnati on July 15. More information about the Nigel Dupree Band is available at nigeldupreeband.com.
Hard Rock Nights airs Saturday nights at 9 pm EDT on WMWX-FM in Cincinnati, streaming online at classxradio.com.
